Inspired by Oak Trees
A SESSION INSPIRED BY OAK TREES
During November 2025 we had a session led by one of our artists and based around the theme of Oaks.
A tremendous range of books, photographs, objects, oak leaves and acorns were provided for the session as a stimulus for the group. Many of us were inspired by the homemade paint/dyes our member had prepared and brought along to the session for us to have a go using.
The Oak paint/dye was made using 1) Acorn Caps 2) Acorn Caps and added Ferrous Sulphate and 3) From whole Acorns.
The photographs below show examples of the resources that were available for reference as well as examples of the different colours that could be achieved using the paint/dyes.
